Second Time Around is fast becoming one of the hottest acts on Long Island.  While they've only been around for a short time, the guys are gaining a reputation for solid group harmony singing.  Featuring Paulie Gee (lead), George Granarolo (baritone), Jerry DelGiorno (first/second tenor & lead), Joe Morelli (second/first tenor & lead) and Joe Gugliotta (bass) they average over 35 years of experience.  Add in serious dedication and ambition and you have a unique and exciting sound.

The group's vocal experiences go back years.  Joe Gugliotta started singing in 1958 with a group called the Clusters.   George sang with the Chordials before going into the Army in the 1960's.  Later he would sing with the Regals and Devotions before joining Second Time Around.  Joe Morelli started singing in 1958 underneath the "L" on 86th street in Brooklyn hanging with the Mystics and Passions!  Joe jokes that "we all sang together - they made it, I didn't."  When he came back to singing it was with the Shoretones and Tribunes.  Paulie grew up in Jackson Heights and started signing with the Del-Larks.   Jerry is the youngster of the group (a mere 37) and is a big doo-wop fan.

Around 1999, a friend of the group put an ad in the paper saying "hey guys - lets hit some notes."  Paulie saw it and responded.  The guys met for the first time at a shooting range.  They would "sing between shots."  Paulie jokes - "if they didn't like us, they would shoot us!"  From those early sessions, the idea for Second Time Around was formed.   The group went through some personnel changes bringing us around to the current group.

The group has appeared at many venues including the acappella session at the Meadowlands, Sayville Street Fair and La Foccacia Italian Restaurant in East Meadow, where they are always asked to return!  They were a frequent guest and featured artist on the now-defucnt Don K. Reed Doo-Wop Shop in WCBS-FM.

Their 2002 CD is entitled A Little Bit of Doo-Wop and features excellent renderings of classic doo-wop tunes.
